FIREARM PERMIT
- 21-years of age or older.
- Valid photo identification.
- Completed permit to acquire application. You will need the make, model, caliber, type, barrel length, and the serial number of all handguns.
- Name, address, and telephone number of the seller.
- Completed Mental Health Waiver form.
- Completed Medical Information Waiver form.
- Completed Firearms Application/Questionnaire form.
- Completed License to Carry an Open/Concealed Firearm Application form (not required unless applying for a License to Carry an Open/Concealed Firearm).
- Background check – includes but is not limited to, warrant checks, local and national arrest history, local and national criminal history, local and national criminal convictions, any pending cases, and any protection orders.
- One-time background check fee of $43.25 to be paid using exact cash or credit card.
- Original Hunter’s Education card or original Handgun Safety Training Course Affidavit. (Handguns only).
- If you were born outside the United States, bring proof of citizenship or proof of United States National status such as an original U.S. Passport, original Naturalization Certificate, or original Born Abroad Certificate. If you are in the military, your Enlisted (ERB) or Officer (ORB) Record Brief with mention of you being a United States Citizen will suffice.
- Married couples applying for a joint registration shall bring an original marriage certificate.
There is a fourteen-day waiting period for all permits. After the fourteen-day waiting period, the permit will be valid for only six calendar days. Permits not picked up by the sixth day will be voided.
Long-gun (rifles/shotguns) permits are valid for one year from the date of issue. Handgun permits are valid for ten days from the date of issue.

FIREARMS REGISTRATION

- Valid photo identification
- Your original firearm permit
- Name, address, and phone number of the seller (in-state registration only)

OUT OF STATE REGISTRANTS
