UPDATE: To reflect Traffic Fatality count for 2020.

On 7-11-2020, at about 1730 hours, a fatal traffic collision occurred on the H-1 Freeway, westbound at the Aiea / Pearl Ridge off ramp.

A Dodge vehicle, being operated by a 21 year old male, with two adult female passengers was on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction.

The vehicle lost control as it took the Aiea off ramp and hit an embankment and overturned.

The adult male operator was taken to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The two adult female passengers were taken to an area hospital, one in serious condition and the other in good condition.

Speed may be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors.

This is the 28th traffic fatality of the year, compared to 31 at the same time last year.

The investigation is on going.
