District 5 – Kalihi

Shaded map of the District 5 beat boundaries

District 5 encompasses 36 square miles of central Honolulu and has a resident population of approximately 147,400. The district’s boundaries span from Aliamanu to the Pali Highway (west to east) and from the rim of the Koolau Range to the central southeastern shoreline of Oahu (north to south).

Go to Crime Mapping to view criminal activity in your neighborhood. The map is updated regularly.  The location symbol reflects where the report was made and not necessarily where the incident occurred.

HOMELESS OUTREACH AND NAVIGATION FOR UNSHELTERED PERSONS (HONU)

HONU is a mobile facility that has the capacity to serve between 60-100 individuals at one location.   The HONU is operated by the City & County of Honolulu Department of Community Services in partnership with the Honolulu Police Department.  The goal of the program is to provide 24/7 short-term shelter services, and navigation to connect homeless individuals and families to longer-term shelter and other housing options.  HONU also provides a critical tool for law enforcement officers to divert homeless individuals from citation and arrest, and provide the option of short-term shelter and services.

NOTE:  As of April 2023, the HONU has transitioned to the Provisional Outdoor Screening and Triage (POST) program to adapt to the current COVID-19 pandemic.    The POST program is currently located at 87-891 Farrington Hwy (Nanikai Beach Park).   To learn more about POST, please click on the City & County of Honolulu’s POST informational flyer.

HONOLULU 311

The Honolulu 311 application affords community members the opportunity to report non-emergency incidents to the HPD without having to call 911 and meet with an officer. Utilizing the Honolulu 311 system will also allow the user to track the status of their service request via email and the app. For more information please click here.
