On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at about 12:20 p.m., a Fatal Motor Vehicle Collision occurred in the Salt Lake area involving a single vehicle with a single occupant.

A Toyota sedan driven by a 90 year old male, was traveling on Ala Napunani Street, prior to Likini Street when it veered off the road and struck a stone wall.

The operator of the vehicle was transported to an area hospital in critical condition where he later expired.

Speed does not appear to be a contributing factor in this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.

This is the 24th Traffic Fatality this year, compared to 29 during the same time in 2019.
