On December 11, 2025, the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicle Homicide Section, was notified by the Medical Examiner’s Office that the 50-year-old male motorcyclist involved in this collision had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
This is the 80th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 47 at the same time in 2024.

On July 15, 2025, at about 05:04 A.M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a pedestrian occurred in the Pearl City area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 50-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on Waipahu Street at a high rate of speed when he collided with an 18-year-old male pedestrian who was not in a marked crosswalk.
As a result of the collision, the 50-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway and was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital where he was initially listed in serious condition and later downgraded to critical condition.
The 18-year-old male pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.
The 50-year-old male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed appears to be a contributing factor to this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are a contributing factor.
The investigation is ongoing.
