On December 6, 2025, at about 10:25 P.M., a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle occurred Kunia Road in the Waipahu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 37-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Kunia Road, when it lost control, traveled into the northbound lane, and collided head on with a 33-year-old male motorist.
As a result of the collision, the 37-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the grassy shoulder area and subsequently transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The 37-year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The 33-year-old male motorists and his 32-year-old female passenger remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol is a contributing factor.
This is the 77th Traffic Fatality of 2025 as compared to 47 at the same time in 2024.
The investigation is on-going.
