Traffic Fatality #75 of 2025

Google Maps Image of the H-3 Freeway (westbound), near the Honolulu Off-Ramp.

On November 20, 2025, at about 5:36 P.M., a fatal motor vehicle collision involving multiple vehicles occurred in the Halawa area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 29-year-old female motorist was traveling westbound on the H3 Freeway when she was rear-ended by a 19-year-old male motorist.

The initial collision caused the 29-year-old female motorist to rear-end a 58-year-old male motorist, who subsequently rear-ended a 31-year-old male motorist.

As a result of the collision, the 29-year-old female motorist was taken via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition, where she was later pronounced dead.

The 29-year-old female motorist was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision.

All other motorists remained at the scene and were not injured.

At this time, neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appear to be a contributing factor of this collision.

This is the 75th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 43 at the same time in 2024.

The investigation is ongoing.
