On February 11, 2026, at about 6:52 A.M., a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on North Kuakini Street in the Liliha area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 67-year-old male motorist was executing a left turn from a driveway and struck a 93-year-old female pedestrian who was crossing North Kuakini Street in a marked crosswalk with the walk signal illuminated.
As a result of the collision, the 93-year-old female pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, where she later succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
The 67-year-old male motorist remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
At this time, speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be a contributing factors in this collision.
This is the 7th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, as compared to 7 at this same time in 2025.
The investigation is ongoing.
