On February 4, 2025, at about 8:40 PM, a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred in the Waianae area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 52-year-old female motorist was traveling westbound on Farrington Highway when she collided with a 59-year-old male pedestrian who fell onto the roadway into the path of the 52-year-old motorist.
The 59-year-old male pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The 52-year-old female motorist remained at the scene and was not injured.
The 59-year-old male pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk.
At this time, neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
