On October 11, 2025, the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, was notified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office that the 66-year-old male pedestrian involved in this collision had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
This is the 58th Traffic Fatality on Oahu for the calendar year 2023.
The investigation remains ongoing.

On March 12, 2023, at about 8:00 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision occurred in the Wahiawa area involving a pedestrian.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 26-year-old female motorist was traveling eastbound on California Avenue. While at intersection with Mango Street, the motorist struck a 66-year-old male pedestrian who was not in a marked crosswalk.
As a result of the collision, the 66-year-old male pedestrian was taken via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The female motorist was not injured and remained at the scene.
Speed, drugs, and alcohol did not appear to be factors in this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
