UPDATE: To reflect the Traffic Fatality count for 2022.

On Friday, December 2, 2022, at about 05:52 a.m., a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred in the area of Fort Weaver Road in the Ewa Beach area.

A 78-year-old male driver was traveling southbound on Fort Weaver Road when he collided with a 56-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing Fort Weaver from east to west.

The 56-year old male pedestrian was not in a marked crosswalk at the time of the collision.

As a result of the collision, the 56-year-old male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The operator of the vehicle remained at the scene and was not injured.

At this time neither, speed, drugs, or alcohol appear to be contributing factors to this collision.

This is the 50th traffic fatality in 2022 compared to 40 at the same time in 2021.

The investigation is ongoing.
