On 12-21-21, at about 10:15 PM, a Critical Motor Vehicle Collision occurred on the H1 Freeway, westbound, east of the airport off-ramp involving an electric unicycle and a Honda CRV.  

An electric unicycle, operated by a 40-year-old male, was traveling westbound on the H1 Freeway when he lost control.  The male was ejected from the electric unicycle onto the roadway and struck by a Honda, operated by a 56-year-old female.

Unit 1 operator was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

Unit 1 was transported to Pali Momi Hospital in critical condition where he later succumbed to his injuries.

At this time, speed, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision.

This is the 45th Traffic Fatality in 2021, compared to 52 during same time in 2020.

The investigation is ongoing.
