On Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at about 6:10 A.M., a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle occurred on Kamehameha Highway in the Haleiwa area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that a 22-year-old male motorist was traveling northbound on Kamehameha Highway when he traveled off the roadway and collided with a tree.
The 22-year-old motorist was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.
At this time, neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appear to be a contributing factors of this collision.
This is the 34th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, as compared to 15 at the same time in 2024.
This investigation is ongoing.
