On June 7, 2025, the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, was notified by the Honolulu Medical Examiner’s Office that the 27-year-old male motorcyclist involved in this collision had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
This is the 32nd Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, as compared to 14 at the same time in 2024.
The investigation remains ongoing.

On May 30, 2025, at about 10:37 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision, involving a motorcycle, occurred on Kamehameha Highway in the Kahaluu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 27-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Kamehameha Highway when he was struck by a 35-year-old male motorist who was traveling northbound on Kamehameha Highway and attempting to execute a left turn onto Wailehua Road.
As a result of the collision, the 27-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway and transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 27-year-old male was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The 35-year-old male motorist remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
At this time, neither speed, alcohol, nor drugs appear to be a contributing factor of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
