On June 6, 2025, at about 2:24 AM, a fatal single motor vehicle collision occurred in the Pali area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 23-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on the Pali Highway at a high rate of speed when he lost control and struck the concrete curb.
As a result of the collision, the 23-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the roadway and transported by Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
The 23-year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed appears to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are contributing factors.
This is the 31st Traffic Fatality of 2025 compared to 14 at the same time in 2024.
