On Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at about 6:37 A.M., a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle occurred on Kaukonahua Road in the Wahiawa area. 

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that an 82-year-old male motorist was traveling westbound on Kaukonahua Road when he traveled off of the roadway and collided with a tree.

The 82-year-old motorist was not wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead at the scene.

At this time, neither speed, drugs, or alcohol appear to be a contributing factor of this collision. 

This is the 23rd Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year as compared to 9 at the same time in 2024.

This investigation is ongoing.
