A Nissan pickup truck driven by a 18 year old female, was traveling northbound on Halona Road when it experienced mechanical problems. The truck then veered into the opposite bound lane and struck a 34 year old male motorcyclist.
The operator of the truck was not injured. Her 19 year old male front seat passenger received minor injuries and refused treatment at the scene.
Although the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed appears to be a factor on both vehicles. Alcohol and Drugs does not appear to be contributing factors.
