On June 2, 2026, at about 8:35 A.M., a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle occurred on Meheula Parkway, near Keaolani Street in the Mililani Area
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Division, a 77 year-old male motorist was traveling southbound on Meheula Parkway when he crossed over a raised center median into the northbound lanes, and traveled onto the sidewalk, where he struck a tree.
As a result of the collision, both the 77 year-old male operator and his 76 year-old female passenger were transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.
On June 2, 2026, at about 10:20 P.M., the Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section was notified by the Medical Examiner’s Office that the 76 year-old female passenger involved in this MVC had succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead.
At this time it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol is a contributing factor.
This is the 17th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, compared to 31 at the same time in 2025.
The investigation is ongoing.
