Traffic Fatality #14 of 2020

On Tuesday, March 22, 2021, at about 1110 P.M., there was a fatal motor vehicle collision on Farrington Highway near Kili Drive in the Waianae area.

A 27-year-old Waianae male motorcyclist was traveling westbound on Farrington Highway at a high rate of speed when he lost control and traveled off of the roadway onto the grass shoulder and collided into a traffic sign. The 27-year-old Waianae male motorcyclist continued on down a grass embankment and came to final rest in the canal next to the Makaha Bridge.

The 27-year-old Waianae motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital in critical condition, where he later succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.

At this time, speed appears to be contributing factor. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were contributing factors.

At the time of the collision the 27-year-old Waianae male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet.

This is the 14th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, as compared to 10 at this same time in 2020.

The investigation is ongoing.
