On 11-12-2020 at about 0347 hours a serious Motor Vehicle Collision occurred in the Honolulu area involving 1 moped and 1 pickup truck. The moped was traveling northbound on Ward Ave. and drove through the intersection against the red light, while the pickup was traveling westbound on S. Beretania St. and drove through the intersection with the green light. Both vehicle collided in the intersection. The pickup truck driver, a 40 year old male suffered minor injuries. The moped rider was taken to the Queen’s Medical Center in Serious condition where he was later upgraded to Critical.

During the investigation, the moped was discovered to be stolen.

At this time, speed, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to be factors.
