On December 29, 2022, at about 04:58 AM, a hit and run motor vehicle collision, involving a pedestrian occurred on S. Vineyard Boulevard near Punchbowl Street in the Honolulu area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 51-year-old adult female pedestrian was crossing S. Vineyard Boulevard, when she was struck by an unknown vehicle traveling eastbound on S. Vineyard Boulevard. The unknown vehicle continued eastbound on S. Vineyard Boulevard and fled the scene without stopping to render aid or provide information.

As a result of the collision, the 51-year-old female pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

It does not appear that the 51-year-old female pedestrian was in the crosswalk at the time of the collision.

At this time, it is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in this collision.
