On December 10, 2022, at about 9:20 PM, a serious motor vehicle collision, involving a motor vehicle and a moped, occurred on Diamond Head Road in the Honolulu area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 68-year-old adult male moped driver was traveling westbound on Diamond Head Road, when he was rear-ended by an unknown vehicle. The unknown vehicle continued westbound on Diamond Head Road without stopping to render aid or provide information.

As a result of the collision, the 68-year-old male moped driver and his 38-year-old adult female passenger were transported to an area hospital in serious condition.

At this time, it is unknown if speed, alcohol, or drugs are factors in this collision.
