A serious motor vehicle collision occurred on January 2, 2022 at around 0544 a.m. in the Kalihi area.  The collision involved one Nissan SUV driven by a 23 year old Kalihi woman and one pedestrian.  The pedestrian is an Police Officer with the Honolulu Police Department.  The Officer was outside of his vehicle and in the roadway directing traffic when he was struck by the Nissan.  The Officer was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center Serious Condition. 

At this time, speed, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to be factors in the collision.
