On October 19, 2022, at about 7:12 a.m., a serious hit and run motor vehicle collision occurred involving an unknown red vehicle and a juvenile pedestrian.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that an unknown red vehicle, operated by an unknown female, was headed southbound on Nuuanu Avenue and disregarded the red traffic light at the intersection Wyllie Street.
As she went through the intersection, she collided with a 14 year old male walking eastbound on Wyllie Street and crossing Nuuanu Avenue.
The 14 year old male was taken to an area hospital and was listed as being in serious condition.
The female operator of the red vehicle that fled the scene has yet to be identified.
At this time, speed does not appear to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors.
