On June 06, 2026, at about 3:33 A.M., a serious motor vehicle collision involving a moped occurred on South King Street in the Honolulu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 27-year-old male moped rider was traveling eastbound on South King Street near the intersection of McCully Street when he was broadsided by an unidentified motorist attempting to make a left turn onto McCully Street from South King Street. The unidentified motorist continued traveling northbound on McCully Street without stopping to render aid or provide information.
As a result of the collision, the 27-year-old male moped rider was ejected onto the roadway and subsequently transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.
The 27-year-old male moped rider was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol are contributing factors of this collision.
