On May 10, 2026, at about 10:55 P.M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Kamehameha Highway in the Pearl City area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that an unidentified motorist was traveling eastbound on Kamehameha Highway when it executed a left onto Puu Momi Street and struck a 41-year-old male pedestrian who was crossing Kamehameha Highway, northbound, in a marked crosswalk. The unidentified motorist continued traveling northbound on Puu Momi Street without stopping to render aid or provide information.
As a result of the collision, the 41-year-old male pedestrian was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol is a contributing factor of this collision.
