On April 7, 2026, at about 8:55 P.M., a motor vehicle collision, involving a pedestrian, occurred on Hopaka Street in the Honolulu area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 31-year-old male motorist was traveling eastbound on Hopaka Street when it struck a parked and unoccupied vehicle, before it stuck a 43-year-old male pedestrian who was standing outside of his vehicle. The 31-year-old motorist then struck another parked vehicle containing a 42-year-old female passenger, a 2-year-old female passenger, a 5-year-old male passenger, and a 10-year-old male passenger before he continued traveling eastbound on Hopaka Street without stopping to render aid or provide information.
As a result of the collision, the 43-year-old male pedestrian was transported to an area hospital in serious condition.
No other injuries were sustained as a result of this collision.
At this time, speed does not appear to be a contributing factor of this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are contributing factors.
