On November 1, 2025, at about 7:45 P.M., a serious motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Kamehameha Highway in the Kahuku area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that an unidentified motorist was traveling eastbound on Kamehameha Highway near Burroughs Road, when it struck a 38-year-old male pedestrian who was walking in the roadway outside of a marked crosswalk. The unidentified motorist continued traveling eastbound on Kamehameha Highway without stopping to render aid or provide information.
As a result of the collision, the 38-year-old male pedestrian was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.
The unidentified motorist remains unknown at this time.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, alcohol, or drugs are a contributing factor.
