On August 29, 2025, at about 8:40 P.M., a serious hit and run motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Keeaumoku Steet in the Makiki area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 53-year-old female pedestrian was on Keeaumoku Street in a marked crosswalk and was struck by an unidentified motorist who continued traveling southbound on Keeaumoku Street without stopping to render aid or provide information.

As a result of the collision, the 53-year-old female pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in serious condition.

At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs, or alcohol is a contributing factor in this collision.
