On April 27, 2025, at about 10:03 PM, a serious motor vehicle collision involving a bicyclist and a vehicle occurred on Kamuki Avenue in the Kapahulu area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 45-year-old female bicyclist was traveling eastbound on Kaimuki Avenue and was rear-ended by an unidentified motorist. 

The unidentified motorist fled the scene, heading eastbound on Kaimuki Avenue and at this time, had yet to be identified. 

As a result of the collision, the 45-year-old female bicyclist was transported by Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition.
