On November 27, 2022, at about 12:30 AM, a serious hit and run motor vehicle collision occurred involving a pick up truck and a moped.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that an unknown red pickup truck, was headed east on South King Street and collided into a 2018 Zhong moped, operated by an adult female.
The collision caused the moped operator to be ejected onto the pavement where she sustained substantial bodily injuries. She was taken to an area hospital where she was listed as being in serious condition. She was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The unknown red pickup truck did not stop after the collision, and continued eastbound on South King Street.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in this collision.
