A motor vehicle collision occurred on December 8, 2021 at around 0852 a.m. in the Aiea area.  The collision involved one Chevy sedan with a single occupant.  A 63 year old Aiea man was traveling west on the H1 Freeway when for an unknown reason he collided with the HOV lane barrier.  The male was taken to the Pali Momi Hospital where he later died.  It appears that the male was possible suffering from some type of medical condition. 

At this time, speed, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in the collision.
