On May 15, 2025, at about 1128 hours, a serious hit-and-run motor vehicle collision involving a bicyclist occurred at the intersection of Citron Street and McCully Street in the McCully area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, a motorist who has yet to be identified in operation of an outstanding stolen vehicle was traveling westbound on Citron Street when they attempted to make a left turn from Citron Street onto McCully Street and collided with a 62-year-old male bicyclist who was attempting to cross McCully Street in a marked crosswalk.
The unidentified motorist fled the scene of the collision last seen traveling southbound on McCully Street and at this time, the operator has yet to be identified.
As a result of the collision, the 62-year-old male bicyclist was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in serious condition where his condition later improved and he was listed in good condition.
The 62-year-old adult male bicyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
