On 9-5-2020, at about 7:30 pm, VHS was notified that a pedestrian was hit by a vehicle that fled the scene in the Makaha area. The adult 31 year old male pedestrian was transported to an area hospital initially listed as being in serious condition. His condition was later upgraded to good condition.

Unit 1 vehicle, a 2007 Ford pick up truck and the 20 year old male operator was later located in the Maile area, and was placed under arrest, after positive identification was made.

Speed does not appear to be a factor in this collision, alcohol appears to be a factor. It is unknown if drugs were a factor.
