On September 24, 2022, at about 1049 A.M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist occurred on Kapaa Quarry Road in the Kailua area.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 34-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling northbound on Kapaa Quarry Road at a high rate of speed when he lost control and dropped the motorcycle.

As a result of the collision, the 34-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected onto the shoulder of the roadway. He was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
