On Friday, January 22, 2021, at about 12:55 p.m., a Motor Vehicle Collision occurred in the Kailua area involving a bus and a pedestrian.

A large passenger bus, driven by a 61 year old male, was servicing a bus stop along the southbound lane of Keolu Drive, just south of Akumu Street.

As a 57 year old female passenger exited the bus, she lost her balance and fell to the ground. The bus then struck the pedestrian as it was leaving.

The bus operator was uninjured and remained at the scene.

The pedestrian suffered injuries to her legs and was transported to an area hospital in Critical condition.

Speed, Drugs, and Alcohol does not appear to be a factors in this collision.
