On Sunday, November 28, 2021, at about 7:55 p.m., a Major Motor Vehicle Collision occurred in the Wahiawa area involving a pedestrian.
A Ford truck operated by a 46 year old male, was traveling northbound on Kamehameha Highway when it struck a pedestrian north of the Avocado Street intersection. The operator of the Ford truck was not injured and remained at the scene.
The 49 year old male pedestrian, did not appear to be in a marked crosswalk. He was crossing Kamehameha Highway from west to east. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition with injuries to his head and body.
**On 11/29/2021, while at the Queen’s Medical Center the male pedestrian succumb to his injuries and died.
Speed, drugs, and alcohol does not appear to be contributing factors on part of the motorist.
It was unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors for the pedestrian.
This investigation is ongoing.
