On September 22, 2021, at about 05:57 a.m. a critical major motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Liliha Street and Bates Street in the Honolulu area.
On September 22, 2021, a 42-year-old male was traveling northbound on Liliha Street in lane number one when he collided with a 61-year-old female who was crossing Liliha Street in a marked crosswalk.
As a result of the collision, the 61-year-old female pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in serious condition and later downgraded to critical condition.
At this time neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
