On Wednesday, September 15, 2021, at approximately 9:33 a.m., a motor vehicle collision occurred in the Makiki area involving a pedestrian.

A Mazda sedan operated by a 61 year old female was exiting a driveway of residential neighborhood when it collided with a pedestrian who was lying in the roadway. The female operator of the vehicle was not injured and remained at the scene.

The 68 year old male pedestrian suffered injuries to his body and was transported to a nearby hospital in “Critical” condition.

Speed, drugs, and alcohol does not appear to be factors on part of the motorist. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors on part of the pedestrian.
