On October 28, 2021, at about 2:20 AM, a critical motor vehicle collision occurred on the H-1 Freeway Eastbound on-ramp near the Moanalua Freeway in the Aiea area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that a 22-year-old Honolulu male motorcyclist was traveling eastbound on H-1 Freeway Eastbound on-ramp just south of the Moanalua Freeway.
As the 22-year-old Honolulu male motorcyclist entered onto the H-1 Freeway on-ramp and came around the bend in the roadway, he lost control and traveled onto the shoulder of the roadway, at which time he dropped the motorcycle and was ejected onto the roadway.
The 22-year-old Honolulu male motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
At the time of the collision, the 22-year-old Honolulu male motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet.
At this time, neither speed, drugs, or alcohol appear to be contributing factors.
The investigation is ongoing.
