On December 28, 2023, at about 04:45 AM, a critical motor vehicle collision occurred in the area of the Ft. Barrette Road and Farrington Highway in the Kapolei area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 30-year-old adult female motorist was traveling southbound on Ft. Barrette Road when she collided with a male pedestrian.
As a result of the collision, the male pedestrian was ejected onto the roadway where he hit his head. The 30-year-old female driver was not injured.
The male pedestrian was transported by emergency medical services to an area hospital in critical condition.
At this time speed, drugs, or alcohol do not appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
