On Sunday, November 13, 2022, the Vehicular Homicide Section was notified by the Medical Examiner’s Office that the 53 year old female pedestrian, involved in this collision succumbed to her injuries.
This was the 45th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, as compared to 37 at this same time last year.
This investigation is on-going.
On November 12, 2022, at about 10:50 p.m., a critical motor vehicle collision occurred involving an adult female pedestrian and a vehicle.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that the vehicle, traveling westbound on Nimitz Highway, collided with a 53-year-old female pedestrian who may have been crossing or walking in the roadway. The vehicle remained at the scene, provided information, and render aid.
The 53-year-old female pedestrian was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
At this time, it is unknown if speed, alcohol, or drugs are factors in this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
