On Thursday, November 10, 2022, at approximately 2:32 p.m., a critical motor vehicle collision occurred in the Wahiawa area, involving a vehicle and a motorcycle.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that a black colored Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by a 34 year old male, was traveling south on Kamehameha Highway. The motorcycle reportedly disregarded a red traffic signal light at the intersection of Wilikina Drive, and collided into a gray Jeep, that was headed north on Kamehameha Highway and making a left turn onto Wilikina Drive. The Jeep was being operated by a 27 year old male, who sustained minor injuries.
The operator of the motorcycle was taken to an area hospital where he was listed as being in critical condition. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, speed does not appear to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if drugs, or alcohol were factors in this collision.
This investigation is ongoing.
