On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section was notified by the Medical Examiners Office that the 27-year-old motorcyclist who was involved in this collision had succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
This is the 39th Traffic Fatality on Oahu this year, as compared to 37 at the same time in 2021.
The investigation is on going.

On Wednesday, November 2, 2022, at approximately 04:44 a.m., a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist occurred on Farrington Highway in the Nanakuli area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a motorcyclist, operated by a 27-year-old male, was traveling westbound on Farrington Highway at a high rate of speed when he lost control. The motorcyclist crossed the grassy median and collided with a vehicle operated by a 49-year-old male traveling eastbound on Farrington Highway.
The operator of the motorcycle was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision. He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.
Speed appears to be a factor in this collision. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.
This investigation is ongoing.
