On Monday, October 31, 2022, at approximately 4:00 p.m., a major motor vehicle collision occurred in the Kapolei area, involving two vehicles.

It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that a green Ford F350 utility truck operated by a 56 year-old male, was traveling westbound on the H1 Freeway.  While just prior to the Kalaeloa Boulevard Off-ramp, a white Toyota pickup truck operated by a 43 year-old male, rear-ended the Ford truck.  

The operator of the Ford truck was transported to an area hospital in good condition.

The operator of the Toyota truck was not wearing a seatbelt.  He was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. 

Speed did not appear to be a factor in this collision.  It was unknown if alcohol or drugs were factors.

This investigation is ongoing.
