On May 7, 2025, at about 9:22 P..M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian occurred on Farrington Highway near Hikukahi Street in the Ewa Beach area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 34-year-old female motorist was traveling westbound on Farrington Highway, and struck a 27-year-old male pedestrian who was standing in the roadway.
As a result of the collision, the 27-year-old male pedestrian was transported via Emergency Medical Services to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 34-year-old female operator remained at the scene and was not injured as a result of the collision.
The roadway was dry and free of any defects. The collision occurred during night hours and the area was dark with no street lightning.
At this time, speed, alcohol, or drugs do not appear to be a contributing factor in this collision on the part of the 34-year-old female motorist.
