On Tuesday, August 2, 2022, at about 7:10 P.M., a critical motor vehicle collision involving a motorcyclist occurred on Farrington Highway near Kualakai Parkway in the Kapolei area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section that a 22-year-old male motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Farrington Highway doing pop-a-wheelies when he lost control and traveled across the northbound lane of traffic and collided with a guardrail.
As a result of the collision, the 22-year-old male motorcyclist was ejected into a grass area alongside the guardrail.
The 22-year-old male motorcyclist was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
The 22-year-old male motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
At this time, neither speed, drugs, nor alcohol appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
