On July 3, 2022, at about 9:15 PM, a critical motor vehicle collision, involving an Oahu Transit Bus and a passenger on that bus, occurred on Kamehameha Highway and Center Drive in the Pearl Harbor area.
It was reported to the Honolulu Police Department, Traffic Division, Vehicular Homicide Section, that a 51-year-old male motorist was operating an Oahu Transit Service Bus traveling westbound on Kamehameha Highway, when he suddenly braked causing a 65-year-old female passenger to be ejected from her seat into the aisle striking her head.
The 65-year-old female passenger was taken to an area hospital in critical condition.
No other occupants on the bus reported any injuries
At this time neither speed, alcohol, or drugs, appear to be contributing factors of this collision.
The investigation is ongoing.
