On February 3rd, 2022, at approximately 05:20 p.m., a critical motor vehicle collision occurred in the Makiki area involving a motorcycle.

A 61 year old male operating a BMW motorcycle, was traveling westbound on the H-1 Freeway, when he collided into a guardrail.

The motorcyclist was transported by EMS to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition.  The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.

At this time, speed, alcohol, and drugs, do not appear to be contributing factors of this collision.

This investigation is ongoing.
