On Tuesday September 14, 2021 at around 0736 a.m. a motor vehicle collision occurred in the Honolulu area. The collision involved two vehicles, an Acura SUV and a Moped. The Acura was driven by a 43 year old female and the moped was driven by a 63 year old female. The Acura was traveling southbound on Punchbowl Street in the number 2 lane. The moped exited the Queen’s Medical Center driveway and turned left where she collided with the Acura. The collision caused the moped operator to lose control and fall to the ground where she hit her head. The moped operator suffered head injuries and was taken to The Queen’s Medical Center in Critical Condition. The Acura driver was not injured.
At this time it appears that speed, alcohol, and drugs do not appear to be contributing factors in the collision.
